The Full Story

About

The font is based on the calligraphic stroke, supporting the Devanagari script. It is a high-contrast text typeface suitable for setting books, magazines, and the strict demand for newspaper printing. The font is inspired by Halant and ITF Devanagari. The main motive of this project was to create a Devnagari font which would be a Display Typeface, a font that is used in bigger sizes with fewer letters for emphasis and effect, and a Text Typeface, which is designed to use in books or newspaper in small sizes usually (between 8pt and 12pt). The goal was to create a type that would ease the reading experience. Text type relies on small cues that help guide our eye through the lines of text in fractions of a second. The letters were hand drawn on paper with calligraphic strokes and then made digital using Fontlab.
